Tekna — Brand Kit

Homework: Build Your Brand Kit · Tuba · 13 October 2026

Pinterest board: pin.it/4szUVCkYB

Part 1: Brand brief

1. What it is

Tekna is the personal brand of Tuba, a designer-engineer who turns early ideas into real startups and digital products. The name comes from techne, Greek for craft: technology made with a maker's care.

2. Who it is for

3. How it should feel

Calm · Precise · Vibrant · Joyful · Refined

4. How it must not feel

Corporate or cold · Generic tech-bro (dark mode + neon gradients) · Cheap or templated

5. Where people will see it

Portfolio website · CV · Pitch decks and slides · Instagram · LinkedIn · X

Concept

"Light through structure." Carved jaali screens (India) and Tadao Ando's concrete and light (Japan), worn like clean techwear. Structure = tech, lace = craft.

Part 2: Moodboard

Key references

Sidi Saiyyed jaali, Ahmedabad — the lace pattern of light, not the stone itself

Tadao Ando, Church of the Light — calm grey and one precise line of light

Chichu Art Museum — hard geometry made soft by light

Kumiko lattice — Japan's answer to the jaali, a bridge between my two cultures

Colour palette

Rule: about 75% light colours (Petal Cream, Fuji Lilac, Rose) and 25% strong colours (Kesari, Akane, Koki-murasaki).

Next steps (for class)

  1. One concept: every choice checks against "light through structure."
  2. Own motif: a lattice drawn on a grid (jaali + kumiko) that also forms a T.
  3. Test the palette and fonts on a CV, a slide and an Instagram post; cut anything that breaks the 5 adjectives.
  4. Voice: short, clear, warm, like a good engineer explaining something to a friend.
  5. Upload brief, palette, fonts and 10 favourite images to Claude Design.
